£1.1m in '23. £117m in '26.
In 2023, Manchester City let Morgan Rogers join Middlesbrough for £1.1m — he'd never played a senior game for them. Three years on, Chelsea just made him the most expensive player in British history at £117m, swooping past Arsenal to do it. In between came a deadline-day move to Villa, a PFA Young Player award, a Europa League final goal and a World Cup semi with England. The boy from Halesowen took the scenic route. £1.1m to £117m in three summers.
