Story of the day
Netherlands '94. South Korea '06. Curaçao '26.
Dick Advocaat coached the Netherlands at the 1994 World Cup and South Korea in 2006. Now 78, he will be the oldest manager in World Cup history when Curaçao kick off against Germany in Houston — seven years older than the previous record-holder. He almost missed it: he stepped down in February after his daughter fell ill. His replacement quit in May. So Advocaat came back. One last dugout. One last impossible mission. The smallest nation ever at a World Cup.
Can Advocaat guide Curaçao out of Group E?
