Story of the day
Home games in Curaçao. Homecoming in Boston.
Haiti couldn't play a single World Cup qualifier on home soil — gang violence pushed every "home" match to Curaçao, an island a thousand miles from Port-au-Prince. Frantzdy Pierrot left Haiti at 11 and grew up in Melrose, Massachusetts, a short drive from Gillette Stadium. Last month the governor declared "Frantzdy Pierrot Day." Tonight, Haiti's first World Cup match in 52 years kicks off in his backyard. No home games. Except this one.
The homecoming kid, in his own backyard. Does Pierrot score tonight?
